Monday, June 17, is the 50th anniversary of a decision by the Supreme Court in Abington School District v. Schempp that stopped the reading of the Bible in public schools by school officials.
Ellery Schempp, the plaintiff in the case, became an an accomplished physicist and has remained a church-state separation activist.
